This still life painting belongs to a series of pieces that were made as an exercise of trying to find joy while having no other option but to stay inside. The series largely reflects visual intersections of the natural world and unique objects and spaces that give them a home.
Rasa Morrison is an Illustrator and Graphic Designer who graduated in 2017 with a BAA in Illustration from Sheridan College. Her work aims to evoke a sense of comfort and nostalgia through her use of a rich, warm, earthy colour palette. She assembles in real space what are mostly collected antique objects, existing in places that have spoken at some point as belonging to the world that she continues to build through each new piece of art. The dichotomy of stillness and movement are equally present through each carefully composed atmosphere that is grounded in reality, but interpreted through a softer, slightly sweeter lens.
Every digital painting is a reflection of the artist and her love of small, beautiful, old, and slightly imperfect things.
